| Job ID: | Job-0353 - Heavy Duty Mechanic - ON HOLD | | Description: | We are currently looking for Interprovincial Heavy Duty Mechanics (Heavy Equipment Technicians) for a leading mining company based in South Eastern BC. The Southeast region of beautiful British Columbia is surrounded by mountains; there is a mix of activities available for every interest. There are many summer and winter activities available such as fishing, hiking, skiing, and snowmobiling.
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time
Salary: $35.00-37.00 Hourly. Extensive benefits available.
Shifts: 4 on and 4 off, 2 days and 2 nights. Overtime payment varies at each site but generally it is time and a half for the first 2 hours, then double time for all subsequent hours.

Duties and Responsibilities: Reporting to the Maintenance Foreman, Heavy Duty Mechanics are responsible for the maintenance and repair of mobile mining equipment including shovels, graders, trucks, loaders and other heavy equipment. Duties include the ability to diagnose equipment problems, disassemble and reassemble components such as engine, transmission, cooling system, fuel and exhaust systems, clutch and differential by using all appropriate tools and following OEM and company procedures.
Additional Skills: Instruct apprentices, Order parts, Keep maintenance reports and documentation
Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract), pre employment medical screening
Own Tools/Equipment: Required to have own Tools, Steel-toed safety boots and Air tools company offers reimbursement for tools approved by supervisor.
Essential Skills: Oral communication, Working with others, Problem solving, Decision making, Critical thinking, Job task planning and organizing, safety conscious.
