Salary: $24.22 per hour for 40 hours per week. As of February, 2013 increase to $24.58 per hour. Other Benefits as per collective agreement: medical, dental, disability, group insurance, vision care (90% employer paid premiums); 6 paid sick days per year (paid out if unused); 2 weeks holidays which increases to 3 weeks after 2 years + 2 floater days.

- Support problem solving by providing advice or guidance for ongoing troubleshooting or new installations.
- Provide accurate estimating services to identify time and purchased material required for all E & I job requests
- Support the maintenance planners to identify, coordinate and implement all maintenance weekday and shutdown activities in area of accountability.
- Coordinate the distribution of manpower between departments.
- Ensure all electrical & instrumentation systems are in place to provide a reliable source of electricity to the pulp mill and recovery boilers.
- Monitor and maintain effective inspection routes to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and internal needs.
- Effectively use the maintenance management systems including Planning and Scheduling Guidelines.
- Develop and recommend E/I training plans & course selection by assessing current trades skill levels and training needs and defining manpower planning requirements relative to E & I related future capital spending.
- Support annual E & I budget development.
- Ensure full compliance with the collective agreement and foster sound labour relations.
- Follow-up on E & I shift reports & provide scheduled weekend duty coverage.
- Advise and recommend potential problems to mechanical supervisors.

Our client is looking for an instrument mechanic to join their team at a pulp mill in the Kootenay River Valley of British Columbia. This mill is one of the most modern and environmentally sensitive mills in Canada and produces Northern bleached softwood kraft.
The employer is a large, diversified and integrated forest products company which stands as the global leader in sustainable forest management practices. The company operates over 30 pulp, paper, and wood product manufacturing units. With operations in North America, China, Korea, and Japan, the Company employs approximately 8,000 people.
The mill is located near Kimberley and Cranbrook. The area is full of activities such as: fishing, hunting, hiking, and hot springs.
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time
Shifts: 10 hour shifts either Monday to Thursday or Tuesday to Friday
